INIGO - Third Debut Album

(Interbeat / Egea)

He became known in past years with his band ("Inigo & Grigiolimpido"). But probably the band format felt a bit tight for him. A singer-songwriter in his soul and guts, Inigo (born Inigo Giancaspro) leaves Grigiolimpido and returns to the scene with his first solo album. Already from the title ("Third Debut Album"), you can grasp a bit of the essence driving this Apulian singer-songwriter. It's an ironic title, looking at himself with a smile on his face, without taking things too seriously. This attitude inevitably leads him to write songs that are equally ironic, with lyrics that are certainly neither clichéd nor mainstream pop, but that require attentive listening. Despite some of his past paths (a finalist at Sanremo Giovani, pop collaborations with Baccini who often guest stars, including on the album in question), Inigo sounds "quirky" enough to appeal, hopefully (we wish him), to a mainstream audience, but also to an audience more "savvy," who experience music not as mere background noise to their days but as something important.
