LA RECENSIONE

Hey, today I suddenly got in the mood for some Brutal Death albums with super guttural growls, agonizing grooves, but most importantly, a flood of violent stereotypes. So, I noticed this "Surpassing The Boundaries Of Human Suffering" by the English band Ingested.

Surely the first thing that catches the eye is the cover; how can one not appreciate that beautiful giant carnivorous plant that's tearing through the sexual organs of ten thousand naked individuals who ended up there for some unfortunate reason. While searching for information about the band, I also noticed that two of their members are part of the horribly bad Annotations Of An Autopsy, but of course, this doesn't influence much, especially thanks to that magnificent cover. Despite all signs pointing to the usual boring and amorphous slam, these Ingested are quite appreciable. Without a doubt, the groove is the essential element of the band, but more traditional passages aren't missing. Additionally, the singer's growl stands out, sometimes more guttural, sometimes clean, sometimes in a scream.

The Deathcore influence is practically absent, even though, as previously mentioned, two members of this band play in one of the most indecent Deathcore bands. The negative elements that can be mentioned when discussing an album like this are always the same, namely the lack of originality but especially that climate of monotony which, however, can also be considered a positive element. Compressed guitars with a thick sound often emerge with artificial harmonics, one of the ultimate pleasures for those who love the genre. As for the drums, fairly fast rhythms that culminate in slow parts where the double bass drum reigns. Regarding the bass, there's nothing to add, it plays its rhythmic role without being too noticeable.

In conclusion, a Guttural Brutal Death album but executed quite meticulously with parts that harken back to the masters Suffocation. The song titles lack any originality, as do probably the lyrics. Pornography and gore are practically the only topics covered, but in the end, this doesn't matter. The listening is recommended to those who love the genre and have heard loads of similar albums, or to those who, like me today, have an incredible urge to listen to a similar album, but without listening to one that's too monotonous.
