Infected Mushroom push the boundaries even further.

The sounds and rules of psycho-trance music, a genre they themselves invented or at least elevated to the highest levels, were not enough for the immense creative potential they possess. Therefore, influences on this album multiply, from Hip Hop to Nu Metal, without any track ever resembling another. Electric guitars (or classical ones like in the opening track "Becoming Insane") are increasingly frequent, probably thanks to Duvdev, the "elder" of the Israeli duo, coming from the punk-rock and heavy scene. His colleague I.Zen, on the other hand, is an excellent pianist graduated from the conservatory and passionate about synthetic and electronic sounds. In this latest album, released in March 2007, there are tracks that are "typically techno", yet rich in original, colorful, and meticulously crafted sounds, along with others that had never before been part of their repertoire, such as the rap track "Artillery" or the melodic "In Front of Me". The vocal lines, therefore, become denser, sometimes turning into real songs, no longer merely decorative as the genre would suggest. The music, always better arranged, still plays the main role as usual. Worth noting is the title track "Vicious Delicious", baroque, elaborate, fragmented, with the longest progression I've ever heard and a relative final explosion, worthy of the most insane and psychedelic rave party. An album with a more varied structure compared to most of their previous works, which in my opinion could also receive praise from outsiders or detractors of techno music.

PS: By the way, coming from a rock background and being distant from the genre in question, I apologize for any missing technical terms, citations, or comparisons. My review is an act of great admiration, sparked by the "love at first listen" I experienced after hearing them for the first time. Curiosity: "Vicious Delicious" was supposed to be released on 6/6/06, but the date was postponed by the producers due to insufficient promotion of the album done up to that point.
