LA RECENSIONE

Can I tell the truth?! Listening to "Nitecomes" by Infall immediately brought to mind another Italian band that I had the pleasure of reviewing on these pages a few months ago, A Theory Of Justice (ATOJ). As with the aforementioned band, the Arona combo has no qualms about showing their "inhuman" love for the math genre, clashing head-on with it through a schizophrenic sound and a claustrophobic singing/screaming that sticks in your head from the first listen. Ok, originality might not be their strong suit, but it must be admitted that Infall knows how to keep the attention focused on them throughout the album's duration, thanks especially to a great assortment of guitar solutions and exceptionally inspired drumming. At times, there's almost a perception that the band wants to venture into post-hardcore territories, but they leave the discussion entirely open, having never fully explored the journey within the EP. The rare moments of high melodic intensity (vocally speaking) scattered here and there within the songs perhaps leave something to be desired; honestly, if you get the listener used to blind fury, it's definitely risky to soften it all at the most exciting moment... Better to be hard and crazy, then. In conclusion, we are faced with an EP that highlights a decidedly inspired band and, considering the hits produced here, will give the best of themselves, especially in live performances. Full speed ahead!

Summary by Bot

Infall's EP 'Nitecomes' delivers intense mathcore with complex guitars and inspired drumming. Although not highly original, the band grabs attention by maintaining a chaotic energy. The vocal style is harsh and memorable, with brief melodic moments that might not fully satisfy. The EP hints at post-hardcore influences but stays firmly in raw, heavy territory. It's a promising release that should shine particularly in live settings.
