Zio bastone, what the hell of a bomb is this record...

If so far 2019 seems to be a memorable year for Black and (dare I say it?) Power Metal, the same cannot be said for Thrash. However, the second album by Incul-ter is a breath of fresh air and scented (of shit) amidst a field of corn in August. No originality, no frills, no nonsense: just half an hour of METAL, pure Metal pushed up your nose (what did you think?)!

One more guitarist and the enlistment of Daniel Tveit (Reptilian, Sepulcher) on drums instead of the old drummer Even Bakke: these promising young Norwegians seem to have found the right formula to deliver a compact and killer Thrash that makes no concessions. A sordid and filthy voice almost in semigrowl; tighter drums with more personality; occasional Black flashes (the beginning of "Endtime Winds," "Through Relic Gates") in a sonic assault that reminded me of Kreator, early Sepultura, and occasionally even early Death. The icing on the cake is the production by Herbrand Larsen, legendary former keyboardist of the giants Enslaved. What more could you ask for?

If you're not in the mood, the last tracks can tire and feel heavy, but if all you want is to listen to some honest and sincere Metal after a long time, "Fatal Visions" is the safe harbor to go for.
