Here I am reviewing one of my favorite bands of the moment... but this moment seems to be over for Incubus.
In my hands, I have an album already "announced" for its pop-rock vein that markedly strays from the successful formulas of their previous works (Make Yourself and Morning View).
Due to this predictability, the new work might not be appreciated by many of their fans.

The album opens with the "launch" single, a violent j'accuse against the Bush administration... the video is interesting... but the track seems a bit "fragile".
We continue with the title track... which doesn't seem bad... but!!! it leaves a bit of a bitter taste; slowly, we make our way to the end (other interesting episodes are "Agoraphobia" and "Here In My Room," already previewed in the MTv live where they gave us a sneak peek of this new effort... effort??).

Despite the addition of ex-Roots bassist, Ben Kenney, the eclectic mix of hip-hop, rock, and funk that earned the band of Mr. Boyd accolades in the music chronicles, seems to have reached its final stop.
All the solutions adopted, be it a pop-rock ballad or a more intense piece, turn out to be predictable and rather banal... if their aim was to surprise the listener... well... they missed the mark!
Only the aforementioned tracks can be a valid start to the result Incubus aimed to achieve; a pity they lost their way along the road.

I'm sorry... but in a certain sense, I could have imagined it... MONEY-POWER!!
