LA RECENSIONE

We could talk about a side project, a jam among old friends, or more simply about a new reality made in Italy, In-Divide. What is it about? It's the union of intents by members from various Italian scenes such as If I Die Today, Startoday, and Screaming Eyes, here brought together in a punk-hardcore project that, in just one year, has produced its debut record titled "The Passengers." An album that partially suffers from the most classic crisis: that of identity. Specifically, when you combine under one umbrella creative minds from vastly different stylistic backgrounds, it's not easy to find the general coordinates that can agree with everyone, which is occasionally noticeable within the album. The style they have adopted is the one most popular today, namely that new school hardcore that has bands like Stick To Your Guns and Comeback Kid on everyone's lips, occasionally tainted by old-school references that don't quite mesh with the overall tapestry of the album. To be clear: "The Passengers" is a fine work that rocks in many aspects, but in the long run, it doesn't stick with you; it's something you listen to pleasantly from time to time but won't remember for long. What is not lacking is passion, aggression, and certainly not the live-oriented emphasis (which we can find in the many choruses placed within the tracks), it's simply missing that common thread, that spark that elevates an album from interesting to excellent. There is room for improvement – we are talking about a band born a year ago – and precisely for this reason, I am certain that the future of our guys will be very interesting and continuously ascending. For the moment, though, it's a school-level six, without infamy and without praise.

Summary by Bot

In-Divide's debut album 'The Passengers' is a passionate punk-hardcore record blending various Italian scene influences. While its style occasionally suffers from a lack of clear identity due to diverse backgrounds, the album features energetic choruses and raw aggression. It delivers a pleasant listen but lacks a lasting memorable spark. Despite some weaknesses, the band's future potential seems promising given their fresh formation.
