THE REVIEW

I spent a long time approaching this album.

I took quite some time to digest it; not that I'm a newcomer to listening to technical metal.

Some things are like that, they need time, trust, consideration, and with the band from Aosta, I've always needed more time, not so much for the complexity of their offering, but rather for their language.

The artistic and compositional proposal of Illogicist travels on a carpet of ultra-technical Death metal laced with many Thrash elements that intertwine skillfully thanks to the presence of an almost overwhelming progressive attitude.

For me, a fanatic of technical and progressive metal, even if paradoxical, digesting Illogicist is not easy, because at first listen I always have the feeling that the offering is not very original.

Our guys are heavily influenced by Death and often this shows; this blocks me initially but, persisting with the listening, I realize that these great musicians manage to blend all their influences effortlessly and, most importantly, shine in their own right; that's why I prefer them!

The third album by Illogicist is a spectacle, always characterized by existentialist lyrics and unconventional arrangements, it raises the tricolor flag high, in the world, because globally, a band that plays technical Death metal like this, doesn't exist.

In this chapter, the recording has become darker and less sharp, the structures are more complex, the guitars do a wonderful job supported by a full-bodied bass in total prominence, all on a rich, precise, and nervous rhythmic carpet that has nothing to envy from anyone.

Great!
