THE REVIEW

An introduction? Is that the goal of "The Shadow Over Arkham"? To serve as a precursor to something more substantial yet to come? Considering that it consists of only four tracks stretching just over a quarter of an hour of sound, I think this hypothesis isn't off the mark. However, it must be highlighted how the tracks could also represent the best of what lies within the creative potential of Ilid, thus running the risk of creating expectations that may not be suitably supported by subsequent developments.

But without looking too far ahead and keeping the future in its rightful category, we can say that the quartet (with a striking female voice) lets itself be carried away by a melancholic and decadent hard/metal rock with gothic shades and seems to be capable of creating good songs, rich in participatory pathos.

Again: the premises (besides the hypothetical assonances that echo other female-fronted bands) are good; it remains to be seen what will happen with the release of the extended album.
