Pierpaolo Capovilla (One Dimensional Man), Gionata Mirai (Super Elastic Bubble Plastic), Giulio Favero, Francesco Valente (One Dimensional Man), are Il Teatro Degli Orrori, a new supergroup aiming to change the foundations of Italian rock.

''Dell'impero delle tenebre'', 11 tracks between the post-hardcore of Jesus Lizard and De Andrè's lyricism, with Pierpaolo Capovilla's voice moving with theatrical skill between hymns of rage and love. "Compagna Teresa" in which love is associated with the loss of social ideals, dead Teresa, dead ideals; quotes and reinterpretations like the track "L'impero delle tenebre" with a reference to Area by Demetrios Stratos from "Maledetti" (...we lost memory in the 20th century...) while in "E lei venne" we find a reinterpretation of Baudelaire's "Vino dell'assasino". We also find the fear of war in "CarrarmatoRock"! with a deadly slogan (...a rock tank for you to make you die of music and not of fear...), and, what can I say, the track is a true sonic monolith. The tracks follow one another rapidly until the last one, the rawest, "Maria Maddalena", 8 minutes of King Crimson-like passages, 8 minutes of pain and promises.

In conclusion, this is one of the most successful Italian debuts of 2007, and in my opinion, they succeeded in their intention, they will save Italian rock. Let's hope.

A fucking bomb!!! This album is a bomb... truly beautiful.

They impose their influences on you, convincing you, then suddenly surpassing them, trampling them, pissing on their shoes, with an irreverence you didn’t expect.
