Fiori Recisi is the third album by the Bergamo-based post-rock band il silenzio delle vergini. The previous albums Colonne sonore per cyborg senza voce and Su rami di diamante were released by the same label, the Resisto distribution from Ferrara. This album is released by both Resisto and Dischi del Minollo. The record is structured in small sonic cameos with narrated and recorded parts that are used as an accompaniment basis for the tracks. These parts act as captions for a refined sound that intersects the music of the Cure from Disintegration (Cuore Di Farfalla), the gloomy and solemn harmonies imbued with supernatural signs of the '90s post-rock groups (Radici Di Paradiso), the pagan aesthetic of Virgin Prunes (the litany with orchestral accompaniment of Non Ho Più Paura), the claustrophobic and tormented sounds of Lisa Germano juxtaposed with the symphonic delusions of Mogwai (Il Treno Dei Desideri). ISDV's preferred form is a song that has transcended the concept of a song, a non-song. Many might define it as a sound experiment, others as a soundtrack, and still others as a song form in evolution. From my perspective, you just have to try to listen to this group.
