An album that was largely ignored by the media. This is quite unusual, considering that with their first album, Il Nucleo, a band from Reggio Emilia, received great acclaim from critics and the public, both in terms of sales and radio-television airplay, with the videos of Sospeso and Meccanismi. Despite the first single 27 Aprile being very catchy, the radios ignored it.

The sound is that of the first album, guitars filtered by synths, hypnotic voice, captivating bass, lots of electronics, but this time used with more discretion, and not just for the sake of it. The best songs from a songwriting perspective are L'Ultimo Uomo Sulla Terra, a scream of slashed guitars that will embed its desperate message in your head ("Sei l'ultimo uomo sulla terra, devi urlarlo forte!") very much in the Muse style, and La Canzone del Marinaio, beautiful and deep, intense and moving, melodic and never banal. They follow a bit in the style of the successful singles, 27 Aprile and its groove with guitars borrowed from The Edge, Gioiello, the second single, very garage and rock'n'roll, and the title track Essere Romantico, a small example of Italian indie. Noteworthy is also Riflessi D'Ambra with a bass line that captivates, envelops, and rolls in a hypnotic sound. A step below are Non Spegnere La Luce, La Quiete Dopo La Tempesta, engaging but not very convincing in testing the Subsonica style, a ghost that often lingers behind some songs, and the Ballata Dell'Uomo Fragile. Insignificant is Mille Anni Luce, a dialogue between an alien and a human. There it is again, human, the ghost of Samuel & co...
