"This is Sanremo 2021, a festival of little songs while there's death outside"
Ladies, gentlemen, dogs, gas station attendants, failures, and voodoo dolls, welcome to the one and only piece that summarizes in detail the 5 nights of the Sanremo Festival 2021, even the most annoying details. Enjoy the spectacle of nature I'm about to explain to you and happy reading to the bravest among you.

FIRST NIGHT
We begin in the dark. With Fiorello and Amedeus talking. They seem like two fifteen-year-olds playing truth or dare. Then the stage, I would say futuristic, lights up, and the one and only...Fiorello arrives. In a very Renato Zero-like outfit, I must say. A mix between Lauro and Malgioglio. Intriguing in the Brazilian slums. After the presentation of the seats, the youngsters arrive. First, we have Gaudiano with Gunpowder, with a happy text that makes you want to throw yourself on the tangent. But it’s danceable. Following is Elena Faggi with What do I know, straight out of a Disney movie like that other song from last year by Gassman's son. Then comes the most interesting one tonight: Avincola with his cheerful Goal! Almost endearing. Finally, Folcast with Discover Yourself. Not too bad. Gaudiano and Folcast pass. Damn.
And after the commercial... the real competition begins. But first, peacock feather dancers, as sensual as they are covered, and Amedeus and Fiorello in a very epic singing moment. The masterpiece is being felt. Then Diodato appears like a ghost but paler. And he makes us hear Fai rumore for the tenth time....he only has one part. Now they really start. Very badly. With Arisa and her song written by Gigi D'Alessio. That's enough. Then comes the host for tonight, Matilda De Angelis, who is glad not to have stumbled. Fiorè, push her, I beg you. But now, it gets serious: it’s Colapesce and Di Martino's turn with Light Music. A bit '80s, a bit of recent it-pop, light but not too much. It'll be a radio hit. However, everything is ruined by Ibrahimovic, whom I wish the worst. No offense to the fans. But at the Ariston, I already know it will be an ordeal to bear him. The third arrives among the singers is Aiello with Ora. The text is poor; it’s not memorable as a piece in general, but his scream is already a meme for me. Comic badge Then a moment with Alessia Bonari, on whom I do not feel like making too much irony. What should I joke about, a pandemic that has been going on for a year? I would say no. After introducing another duo, Francesca Michielin and Fedez... and I will say, their piece is even listenable. And after the Bertè and "why?", we give the line to Gazzè, who gives his best, dressed like Da Vinci, with a football shirt with Da Vinci 11, surrounded by cardboard of various characters singing about a pharmacist making a remedy for everything. We move on to Noemi with Glicine, a ballad that can give much more with subsequent listens. Raise the armrests, gentlemen, habemus illice! And after the Poltronesofà jabs at my wretched orange rotten tangerine sofa, we have the first appearance of five of the Achille Lauro, with his usual eye-catching outfits. But apparently, he has lost his eyebrows and is bleeding like the tiger man. It's 11:40 pm, and we're halfway: now Madame sings, who, despite being only 19 years old, has talent to sell but doesn't fully convey it with the sung piece. Maybe with subsequent listens, it can be reevaluated. With Matilda's return and the "2 minutes" to describe the photo of the kiss of the two New Yorkers and an entire lesson on how to kiss, here are the Maneskin, the rock quota of this edition. Immediately in pursuit comes Ghemon with a soft and jazzy Perfect Moment. Fiorello dancing on the beach, a call from the stage to Gianni Morandi, Mara Venier, and Jovanotti, and Fiorello having a schizophrenic recollection on Ti lascerò with Matilda "E allora Mambo!". I swear on myself, I've been not understanding anything for half an hour. And here comes dawn save before turning into a meteor on my eye. Fortunately, the Coma_cose come to reignite the competition (to direct is Vittorio Cosma, who seems to have stopped being a Calabrian hairdresser), with a very tender piece indeed and with some small finding in the second stanza (the toaster falling in the bathtub is a nice image). And let's go to Annalisa, who with her Dieci doesn’t stray much from her musical standards. At a quarter to one, there are only two singers left, after almost 5 hours of broadcasting. But first Diodato returns singing Fino a farci scomparire and Che vita meravigliosa. At least it's not Fai rumore. And here he is, the one the chair-loving audience of the Ariston is fearing: Renga. And indeed, his piece is chilling, but not for its beauty. And immediately comes the last, Fasma. It's his style, that of a romantic rapper, but the young man has grown, he has gained grit. A small applause must be given to him. Before seeing the ranking, we see the performance of the State Police music band in an Argentine tango.

SECOND NIGHT
Fiorello at the entrance. A wild dance dressed as Maleficent mixed with a crow among the chairs occupied by balloons. We start perfectly, Fiorello has become a new idol to frame in less than 24 hours. Fiorello entertains us as usual between PD and carrier pigeons in front of an Elio-friendly audience. Then we pass to the youngsters: Wrongonyou (has talent), Elena Zuccoli (beautiful voice, the problem is the rest), Davide Shorty (a small certainty even if a bit raw) and the Dellai (twins bringing a playful piece but nothing special). Of course, the best pass, Shorty and Wrongonyou. We start very well. Come on tonight, it won't go badly. Then a huge train of dancers supported by a hundred microphones and like last night a duet between Amedeus and Fiorello. More and more like old men staying until one in the morning at karaoke. And Swing, ladies and gentlemen! Let's start immediately with the Orietta Berti, criminal mind. And her piece makes me come moldy honey in the brain. And it clogs it with affectations of quite old flavor. Move on, move on. We touch a completely different genre, with the co-host for this evening, Elodie. And we move immediately to the second singer: Bugo, with a ballad that is neither flesh nor fish. After the commercial, Fiorello targets the audience, poking it dressed as a New York mobster, to then sing Bohemian Rapsody mixed with Marco has left and returns no more. This foreshadows the arrival of the new Golden globe Laura Pausini. It's always better than Povia. She sings the song that won the golden globe, Io sì, and gives us one of the greatest gems of Italian trash: Laura Pausini singing This is the rhythm of the night while Fiorello does beatbox and Amedeus dances a dance of dubious taste. From here on, nothing will ever be the same. Suddenly, Gaia with Cuore amaro, carbon copy of any piece by Elettra Lamborghini. Too hard to swallow. Liguria ad. We skim over. Let’s move to the next ones, The social state: parodying the title of the Clash, the piece drags quite with its Bennato-like rock. And scenically it was very captivating I must say, with the furry hiding in a box. Now comes a fairly touching moment: a tribute to maestro Morricone. First with someone whose name escapes me, unfortunately, who pays tribute by playing one of his pieces with the trumpet, then with an orchestral performance of Metti una sera a cena directed by Morricone Andrea. And then to complete the tribute, the tir The flight appears, not the 70s supergroup, those 3. We jump, skip. Let's continue the competition. The representative of list, with a piece that can move the butt, the mind and the ears. Scary voice as usual. And after a small intervention by Fiorello and the singing test of untitled unreleased by Vasco on old men watching the works in progress, Malika Ayane arrives with her piece full of verve and catchiness. The level remains quite high. Then Alex Schwazer is invited, and being as close to sport as Amedeus is to letting go improvisation, I didn’t even know of his existence. But hearing his story I would say it’s good to have heard it. And now...singing moment of Elodie! With a Medley of her songs and not in a truly chilling playback. I hit the skip button and move on. Maybe worth it. Gigliola Cinquetti, Fausto Leali and Marcella Bella interpret-stop, where is the competition? We are stuck at the sixth participant for half an hour, let's move on? Ok, let's move on. Here's that lands again after 3 years Ermal Meta, quite classic love ballad but also quite original. I say straight away, he deserves the podium. Immediately with the Extraliscio with Davide Toffolo, with Bianca luce nera which teeters between punk smooth and a standard Sanremo piece. The standard of madness anyway is beyond any usable measure. The beautiful smoothness among the competing artists is however broken by the arrival of the tacky conqueror Gigi D'Alessio, and here I'm about to break the schedule, so I go do something else. Ama afterwards, however, worries about Ibrahimovic and videos him. We are taking bad shores. At least, it lasted very little. And again comes back Achille Lauro who well had to come at least, we get rid of him. But there are Francesca and Claudio dragged by the twist of Laurone. Can we pick up the competition again, please? Oh olé. Here’s a sensitive button that will be difficult to address: Random. His piece is the worst among all 26, a real whine not even Berti and its singing is decently abominable (but then you’re a rapper, rap, don’t play the herald of good singing that makes it only worse). After Fiorello harassed various players in the orchestra, let's move to one of the most promising, Fulminacci with Santa Marinella that lives up to expectations. In sequence performs Willie Peyote: without being contradicted by any person or mere angry, the piece is a wild card ruthless and clear in the analysis of the times we are living in Italy between social media, music, sport, politics, where everything is reduced to mere entertainment. But here is the highlight of the evening, the much-announced cover of Vattene amore sung by Fiorello and Elodie. So a little ajar, Dudu dadada. However, it is actually pleasant. Then the penultimate singer introduces Cristiana Giorelli, Gio Evan. Starting prejudiced, considering he’s a writer and a writer should never write songs (except in some cases), he is betrayed by the emotion that breaks the voice but the piece is actually felt textually. And so we reach the last, Irama, who unfortunately ended up in quarantine and what we saw is the video of the general rehearsal. However, the piece makes you move your butt quite well, it's almost not at all malefic. Before moving on to tonight's temporary ranking and the first general one, Elodie talks a bit about herself (she gets emotional...and so do I) and sings Mai così.

THIRD NIGHT
Today cover night. And we start with Amedeus dressed in red and Fiorello, as usual. And today is also the birthday of Dalla and to celebrate are....the Negramaro. With Giuliano with the ugliest glasses ever. 4 March 43 (take 5 euros for a pig violinist Aiello, don't make the synth the leitmotiv of the piece !) and then Wonderful. Am I still in time to leave? But a twist, the first singer performs in less than an hour! Come on, today we finish at 23. And there's Noemi with Before leaving by and with Neffa. Quite danceable, good at first. Immediately second! But what is tonight?! Fulminacci sings I think positive with Lundini and Roy Paci (who has a t-shirt with the face of Enrico "Erriquez" Greppi...and I get emotional). And he strangely manages, with a funny start on the drums that reminds a bit of the mechanics of the show de Absinthe of the Bluvertigo. Then the co-host of this evening, Vittoria Cerretti introduces the third participant: Renga with Casadilego singing together An extra reason of Vanoni. The only thing we will remember will be the embarrassing vocalizations of Renga, the rest mess clumsily. The fourth is the Extraliscio with Peter Pichler of the Three cheerful dead boys with Medley Rosamunda ...and it is immediately the Tramontana of San Giustino. And off we go with the smooth, welcome even tonight. But in all this, where is Fiorello? Here he is, beautiful distressed because of Zingaretti who complains of the armchairs, who sings us a little absurd piece that mixes a little of everything and that makes a smile. Then move to Fasma singing The end by and with Nesli (...who is?), interrupted by a small technical issue. However, good performance. Next song. Bugo and the Nucleary tactical penguins, with An adventure of the national Battisti. But apart from Bugo's out-of-tuneness, it's okay (...maybe). Seventh race: Michielin and Fedez with Medley between Calcutta's green, Silvestri's common things, Happiness and Our song by Albano and Romina. Medium unleashed, approved. Then comes Irama and here you have to touch your nuts: he will sing Cirano by Guccini, starting with an intervention by Guccini himself. And in the end, it could have gone worse. Ninth course: Maneskin with Manuel Agnelli with Amandoti by CCCP: starts soft then explodes and becomes a small gem indeed. Following, Random with The Kolors singing Lucky guy. Musically good, he sings like I set myself on fire. That is, very badly. But here is the main event: Willie Peyote with Samuele Bersani singing Universal judgments. Peyote falters a bit and doesn’t always stay behind Bersani but the cover is very successful. And to balance everything, arrives a guest: Antonella Ferrari. Engaged in a heartbreaking monologue focusing on her illness. Then comes Valeria Fabrizi which well, Amè, pick up the thread because we’re not yet halfway. Here, they immediately introduce the next participant: Orietta Berti who sings I who love only you with Le Deva. You can feel the putrid sugar beginning to come out in the form of Lucifer. Orietta, please cease-fire. But Amè’s question: where is Zlatan Ibrahimovic? Apparently he got stuck in traffic and arrived absurdly through a poor motorcyclist who had to go to Livorno. Too bad he didn’t crash against that truck with the picture of Padre Pio on the dashboard, I would have appreciated it much more. Thirteenth lap: Gio Evan who sings The years with those of The voice senior. A little geriatric ward. Then comes the turn of Ghemon in a Medley of various songs accompanied by Neri per caso: starting more acoustic to the Neri per caso to a disorienting jazz-funk finale. Surprising. Various chaos moment, Fiorello offended, etc. A promotional massage. Then comes Zlatan's friend, Sinisa Mihajlovic....STOP WITH THESE SUNDAY INTERVIEWS! IT IS SANREMO NOT A DAMN SITTING ROOM. It's almost midnight, there are still 12 singers, now Amè concentrate, leave the guests who unnecessarily lengthen the broth and go straight until one-thirty. And don't chatter with Zlatan and Sinisa singing Vagabond that I am. Meanwhile back Vittoria Cerotti, who presents The representative of list who sing with Vettore Splendid splendid. Nice this funk. Here comes, like the plague, Arisa with Michele Bravi who could potentially destroy When by Pino Daniele. They manage only partially. Come on Amédé, you’re doing well. And instead no, another guest arrives. Although ... it is quite a punch to the stomach this one. But let's move on. The Lauro is back in "if I don't move I don't exist" mode. You can send him to pick olives from the Apulians of Florence, extreme suburbs, please. And Emma too, but yes. Achille, you've broken it with these paintings, go do it for miners please. I am regretting, let's resume the race, so at least I can die also for today? Instead no, Fiorello sings. ENOUGH!! Okay let's resume. Hallelujah. Madame with Prisencolinensinainciusol by Celentano. With an interpretation of a teacher and desks with wheels. Very very nice. Scenic presence beyond any prediction. Immediately start The social state together with a maximum with Francesco Pannofino, Emanuela Fanelli and all the workers of entertainment singing Not forever with a moment dedicated to clubs, concerts and cinemas that have been closed for a long time because of Covid that makes a tear drop. Number 19: Annalisa and Federico Poggipollini sing The music is over by the Vanoni. The guitar in the chorus is quite snappy, possibly pleasant. Let's move on immediately: Gaia with Lous and the Yakuza brings I fell in love with you. The Indian dress is nice, but meh, we appreciate the effort. And the return of Vittoria Ceretti coincides with the arrival of another important maxim of this evening: Colapesce and Di Martino singing Poor homeland by Battiato, with an unreleased fragment of the master's voice. Very moving to see such a current piece on that stage. Still forward, like a train: The coma_things sing My free singing with Alberto Radius and Mamakass. It could have come infinitely better. The arrangement is too intangible. Moment with the Negramaro making us hear a bit of their new album...which is a half crap but okay. Next Malika Ayane with the legendary With you I am no longer. Intense and elegant, as usual of Malika. But now, another main event: Gazzè singing From the world of CSI accompanied by the Magical mystery band in which also appears Silvestri. The result is stratospheric.
It arrives in the sleep of everyone Ermal Meta, singing Caruso. Ermal, I love you dearly, but the piece you manage to sing struggling. And I'm being kind. I can’t even cling to the excuse of "why you sing Neapolitan if you’re not from Naples", since it is a piece written and sung by a true Bolognese. But it could get worse: in fact, there's Aiello "the scourge of God", accompanied by Vegas Jones (who’s he?) gently lulls us with Gianna by Rino Gaetano. Anyway, we hit the bottom: it has become an electropop. SEX IBUPROFENNNNN.

FIORELLO INGRAVIDA MY DAUGHTER. Um. We were saying. Beatrice Venezi presents the first among the young who are in order: Shorty, Folcast, Gaudiano and Wrongonyou. Nothing to add we know the pieces well. Let's move on: Mia Martini press room award to Wrongonyou, Lucio Dalla award to Shorty. And the winner of the young ones is... Giovanni Toti. No wait. Last place, Wrongonyou, third place, Folcast, second, Shorty (you bastards) and first Gaudiano. The suicidal maniac made it!
Meanwhile, Fiorello directs the imaginary orchestra and reviews the ranking. And since I didn't transcribe it, I’m transcribing it now:

The first to perform again is Annalisa, followed by Aiello "scourge of God" (this time much more polite). We are going super-fast tonight, the engines start immediately Maneskin (or as Orietta Berti would say the Naziskin), Barbara Palombelli presents us Noemi and everything is fine. We can also afford a gag of Fiorello for intermezzo, that on me! Then follows Orietta Berti but unfortunately we start talking again about Ibrahimovic (fortunately not for too long), but immediately after move quickly with Colapesce and Di Martino, Gazzè, Peyote and Malika Ayane. However dedicate as usual the usual moment to Achille Lauro singing his two Sanremo songs. And he’s dressed as a chamois holding the Italian flag. Everything is normal ladies and gentlemen. Also arrives Fiorello at some point after having robbed a hardware store. We go back to the competition with The representative of list and Madame. Come on Amedè, I’m telling you tonight you outdid yourself, finally it seems indeed an Italian song contest and no longer those Sunday sitting rooms that were in this context like a puke during the Christmas Mass. After the commercial resumes with Arisa but suddenly here, ladies and gentlemen, the real event of this edition: We are women sung by Amedeus and Fiorello in the female version. This is fucking craziness, guys! After which comes back Ibrahimovic, yeeeeeeee. But fortunately lasts for a little and here are the Coma cose. But in the meantime, we must balance a moment that is 3 competitors that there is no guest: at this time we find Mahmood, who sings us the latest Inuyasha, with insertions of Rapide, Barrio, Calipso, Dorado and Soldi. And let's go with the fourteenth, Fasma. After a monologue by Barbara Palombelli on the history of the festival and on women and a small reference to Radio 2, sings The social state and Francesca Michielin with Fedez. I am still stunned; we are strangely on time. However, let’s go down immediately, with lessandra Moroso and Emma Marrone who present their latest duo single. We skip, we jump. Let's go to Irama, go. Putting the usual video in loop, but at least physically we have it. And suddenly we return to smooth, with the Extraliscio. And it is immediately piadina festival. Following a tribute to Renato Carosone: Enzo Avitabile the author of the tribute. Certified gold quality. Even Amedeus and Fiorello dressed as grand vizier can only accompany. Next song in the competition, Perfect moment of Ghemon (deserved much more), and immediately after Renga (nono nononononon no non I preferred the l*bbra). There's Allesandra Moroso (but enough) and another one talking about how Covid devastated us, especially those behind the scenes of the shows. Only towards the end, it deviates a little from a goodism that gives hives. After the Moroso sings A night in Italy...and I mute because I love decency. By the lip reading, she seems to be screaming and I don't know why, but I feel the need to make the Ariston implode. But, twist, at the beginning Renga's piece had not been heard so he will have to sing it again .............fuck. Let's start again from Arnica by Gio Evan and immediately after from Ermal Meta, Bugo, Fulminacci, Gaia and Random. See that if you commit yourself fast Amè, squeeze your brains also for tomorrow!

FIFTH NIGHT
So here we are, are these the last hours? Come on courage gentlemen, one last effort. As soon as the TV is on, there's the Italian Navy brass band, playing the Mameli hymn and going out to the notes of the Hymn to San Marco. Then we start. Today the televote intervenes, I am with the phone detached and I attach myself to the Aiello Brazzorf. It starts with Ghemon, Gaia, Irama (what a chill...) and Gio Evan. Then comes the commercial, on which more could be written than the whole Festival but this is not the right place. And after it.......Fiorello, introduced by a group ballet, singing a Medley in Little Tony version with his usual crazy genius. And after a small intervention on Dante, sing Ermal MetORLDATIONARY-NO as and Fulminacci. Then the stage welcomes Ibrahimovic once again, hope it's the last time, singing Renga. Still can't comprehend how he hit tenth place Wednesday on the interim standings. Much better now. And we go back to our crazy fans of smooth. And let's go even tonight! And we also have a guest from Naples: Serena Rossi who hopefully is not really that Rossi's daughter, singing Amedeus' secret song: A te by Jova. Now, I fear for Fiorello, you see that his secret song can be When children go oh. And finally, the most praised of this festival: Colapespe and Di Martino. Always welcome. Meanwhile, an intrigue that goes on for two evenings has a plot twist: Amedeus's wife wasn’t cheating on him with Fiorello but was setting up for Tim. Anyway, let's get back to the competition with Malika Ayane (anyway, Amé, you've done 10 singers in almost an hour and a half, but you okay?), A lyrical moment of Fiorello that makes quite a smile so too as the stories of his little children making puddles in the musicals. But anyway, let’s go listen back to Michielin with Fedez. After them comes a special guest: Ornella Vanoni with Gabbani doing her attendant otherwise she doesn't get down the stairs who sings An extra reason (a piece that Renga should actually listen to), The music is over and I fell in love with you by Tenco. She practically put the covers of Thursday in chronological order and sang the least recent ones. Then she sings with her simian companion the new A smile within the tears. Then starts the new round of Peyote, with his invective against Italy and its sick facets (I don't stretch on Ibra, but I’ve already given on him, yet his monologue is on the threshold of decency.... maybe a little more). It then returns Tecla Insolia (that begins to make someone think....) that presents the Berti. After Arisa comes Giovanna Botteri, who after a bit of chatting presents Bugo. While Fiorello receives the Sanremo City Award and perform the Maneskin. Now, Amè, it's about midnight, there are still 10 singers, please do as yesterday, go straight, straight and don’t do the interviews in the lounge. Okay? Okay. And put Lauro. So you hate me. But anyway dies holed by roses. Okay, we won't see it for at least one year. Beautiful Madame tonight though, ready to get married (but not to me, uffa). Then come two ambassadors of the Olympics, the Federica Pellegrini and Alberto Tromba. And then here comes The representative of list. Come on Amè, back straight to the race. Okay Amè. You could have called him after Umberto Tozzi. I’m not saying don't call it, but it’s midnight and forty minutes and still missing some singers. Anyway, you have to lose this habit of inviting too many people, then the audience gets bored. Finally, we return to the race with Annalisa and immediately after the Coma Cose, The social state, Random, Gazzè (which almost killed himself in the empty armchairs) and Noemi. We have the name of who wins the AWARD TIM, consisting of a world trip and Paola from Salerno won it. Hi Paola. And we are at the end with Fasma and Aiello. Before the ranking returns Gaudiano, go on stage dancers in suits and ties and I am dead inside and out. And here is the....

Before revealing the podium, there is a singing circle between Riccardo Fogli, Michele Zarrillo, and Paolo Vallesi and the performance of this Dardust but at this point, frankly, no one cares, everyone just wants to know who wins. But first, there are a couple of prizes to be awarded:
Critics Award: Willie Peyote
Sergio Bardotti Award for Best Text: Madame
Lucio Dalla Press Room Award: Colapesce and Di Martino
Giancarlo Bigazzi Award Musical Composition: Ermal Meta

Here we are. This is the Sanremo Festival podium. We will see if he won Ermal Meta's ballad, Michielin and Fedez's pop song or the Maneskin's aggressive rock.
First, let's discover the third place...Ermal Meta

And now....we are about to find out the winner of Sanremo 2021. And the winners of Sanremo 2021 are...THE MANESKIN
Surprisingly the Maneskin win Sanremo 2021. Never has a pulled-off rock been able to win the Sanremo festival, today is the first time in history. The boys get excited like children, almost failing to start the piece. And it’s nice to end with this image: those we’ve come to know as loud and pure hard guys go crazy for the victory. It’s something that opens your heart a little. After the first chorus, I collapse with my head under the couch. I have passed out. And this ends my challenge of watching the Sanremo Festival 2021. I will wake up next year.

"I am insane but different from them"
