Nine years ago.

Exactly nine years ago, one of the best hardcore punk albums of this decade was released. The work consists of thirteen (sixteen in the European version) explosive tracks, finding unconvincing pieces in this emotional sequence is truly impossible even for those who aren't very familiar with this musical genre that is not exactly within everyone's reach.

Despite the themes addressed in many tracks (abandonment, domestic violence), what the album conveys with greater conviction is a constant reaction to negativity and, in full hardcore style, an incessant anthem to never give up, as in the splendid and fast-paced "Hands On Stance", and then highlight the song "Veteran", perhaps the most famous track of the Californian quartet, or "Fill In The Blanks", where the robust Zoli Teglas showcases his talents behind the microphone.

Going through the songs one by one doesn't make much sense for an album that fits into this musical genre, if you haven't yet had the chance to come across this album and consider yourselves true Hardcore Kids, well, download it, even better buy it, in short, do what you want but try to get this splendid example of anger, reaction, and energy transmitted in music.

For all those who listen to music based on genre labels... whether "New," "Old," "Melodic," or whatever, it doesn't matter much, the Attitude is right, the sounds too, not to mention the lyrics... It's Hardcore Baby, take it or leave it.

Tracklist Lyrics and Videos

01   Who Sold Out Now (02:24)

02   Veteran (02:47)

Yeah you're abandoned so sorry
You're just a waste of their time
Yeah you've been lied to once again
Yeah we'll they've paid you no mind
Where are we now

Old woman have you seen your better days
Are you feeling so alone
Well the times they all have changed
Forgotten hungry and cold
Veteran are you satisfied with life
Are you sleeping on concrete
Are you forgotten and alone
Poor homeless in this country
Where are we now

Hey senior have you been taken past your prime
Have you been taken advantage of
Are you forgotten, tired and poor
By the ones you've voted for

Yeah you're abandoned so sorry
You're just a waste of their time
Yeah you've been lied to once again
Yeah we'll they've paid you no mind (2x)

The slavery of poverty
No one should be hungry in this country
Enough to feed to medicate
To clothe the backs and housing for families
The cuts in care and Medicaid leads me to believe
Our government just doesn't care
We send our aid our misspent funds
Americans hungry living in the gutter(2x)
Where are we now

Yeah you're abandoned so sorry
You're just a waste of their time
Yeah you've been lied to once again
Yeah we'll they've paid you no mind (2x)

03   Fill in the Blanks (02:18)

Feeling alone, kicked out at fifteen
Father oh... where am I going to sleep
I had a home now hungry tired, filthy
You had a son and walked away from me

Met your new wife
Start your new life
You got no more time busy
From house to house I sleep on the couch
Whoever has room for me

Being a man comes with a price tag
What happened dad you walked out left for dead
Negative thoughts became reality
Having a child should not be so easy

I pay the rent, brothers school payments
Your responsibilities
I used to be your priority
You got no more time busy

Met your new wife
Start your new life
You got no more time for me
I don't understand what kind of man
Abandons his family

Well I'd rather you yell and scream at me
Because I can't handle all this apathy
Your life seems goog without me
You chose your own path

I'm not the one I'm not your son
At least that's how you make me feel
From time to time I use my last dime
To see if that you're for real

04   Burned Up (02:48)

Burned up
My throat is ripped open
I Can't sing I cannot scream
Having hard times falling asleep

Remind me keep my spirits high
It always could be worse right
My destiny, my own life

Save me the daylight bring me home
In this bus I call my own
Best friends I've ever known

Bad karma collecting from my past
Best time I ever had
If my health was not so bad
Self made man, make your bed to sleep
You won't listen to nobody
Heads thick as hard concrete

Save me the daylight, bring me home
Best friends I ever known
In this bus I call my own

Self made man all hours of the night
You dons lead a healthy life
Again I'll burn tonight

Burned up
my throat is ripped open
I Cant sing, I cannot scream
Having hard times falling asleep
When every meal is a punishment

I'm on my way home (3x)

Alive
Changed favours, prepared minds
Again I'll burn tonight
Self made man, make my bed to sleep
You won't listen to nobody
Heads thick as hard concrete

05   No Regrets (03:00)

it's in my head
and nothing changes what's been done
if i regret not being there when the time has gone
when it's too late

no regrets no time to change
a selfish choice can take it's toll
a sacrifice might make the day
no regrets it's time to change
could i have done more
it's in my head

i hold my breath it's not too late
and i know that if i had another chance
i'd make it up to them
i'd make it count

built up
but nothing changes what's been done
if i regret not being there when the time has gone
when it's too late

no regrets it's time to change
a selfish choice can take it's toll
a sacrifice might make the day
no regrets it's time to change
could i have done more
it's in my head

it's in my head
it's in my head
it's in my head

a selfish choice can take
take it's toll a sacrifice i'll try
try instead i hold my breath it's not
not too late i hope it's all just in
just in my head

no regrets it's time to change
no regrets it's time to change
a selfish choice can take it's toll
a sacrifice i'll try and stand
i'll hold my breath it's not too late
and i'll hope it's all just in my head

06   Run (02:33)

Run Run Run
Keep on beating them down
What could make you so mad
To beat your own children black and blue

Your time will come
When the beat downs turn to you
You call yourself a man
Your children black and blue
Once again, black and blue
Once again, black and blue

Run Run Run
Why don't you walk away
Abusive husbands
A childhood lost betrayed

Run Run Run
The old man is drunk again
From the hand that feeds
It turns into a fist

The nightmares are our memories
The broken homes and noses that bleed
Afraid to stay nowhere to turn
Domestic violence tragedies

Run Run Run
Why don't you walk away
Abusive husbands
A childhood lost betrayed

Run Run Run
Why don't you walk away
You need to make a choice
Because things will never change

I ask the mothers
Why dont you walk away
Abusive husbands
A childhood lost betrayed

The nightmares are our memories
The broken homes and noses that bleed
Afraid to stay nowhere to turn
Domestic violence tragedies

Run Run Run
Keep on beating them down
What could make you so mad
To beat your own children?

07   Bullets Included No Thought Required (03:05)

put down your gun punk
put up your dukes son
why can't you be a man
fight me one on one
don't need guns or knives
to hide behind
bullets included
no thought required

senseless violence
there's no excuse for this
you live the path of most resistance
create your own hell
you live in violent times
no respect for other peoples lives

put down your gun punk
put up your dukes son
why can't you be a man
fight me one on one
emancipate yourself
from stupidity
don't look for handouts
just opportunity

tag your name on
dirty toilet stalls
claim your turf on subway urinals
pay your rent by
selling guns and drugs
understand no respect you at all

senseless violence
there's no excuse for this
you live your path of most resistance
create your own hell
you live in violent times
put down your gun punk
put up your dukes son

tag your name on
dirty toilet stalls
claim your turf on subway urinals
pay your rent by
selling guns and drugs
understand no respect you at all

08   A Place Called Home (03:17)

09   Hands on Stance (03:20)

If you care, love something
And see it threatened
You'll get angry and fight
A scorched earth policy
Nature's not valued by our society
sometimes you fight and you win
most of the time its a loss up against big monies
War on predators on public property

Destroy what humans have made, like a bulldozer
You're called a vandal or a criminal
But clear cut old growth trees
You're calles a logger, a miner, a businessman
Stand up and fight don't give in
Stagnant hands can't accomplish anything
I value life over property
The greedy hands stained in blood money

Sometimes you fight and you win
Stand your ground don't you give in
Sometimes you fight and you win
Stand up for what you believe

The circus came to town, bringing misery
White trash families
Bring the kids gawk at inhumane tragedies
Beat down lions, detoothed black bears
Elephants on the verge of insanity
Rodeo hillbillies
Traveling jails and side show circusfreaks

Sometimes you fight and you win
Stand your ground don't you give in
Sometimes you fight and you win
Stand up for what you believe

All hands on stance for what you believe
Stand your ground firm because

Sometimes you fight and you win
Stand your ground don't you give in
Sometimes you fight and you win
Stand up for what you believe

10   By My Side (03:45)

11   In Moderation (01:54)

Too many people can't
Control the reality of addiction
Running all up hill carrying a heavy load
A life of excess abusing everyway
Your tattered health a price tag you have to pay

Ambition falls apart
Your health will do the same
Achievement falls by the wayside
An addict a family's shame

Mistake
When you're passed out drunk using around your kids
Won't give up your smoke its too hard to break
Why don't you find some courage for your families sake
She did not marry you
To be your punching bag
I'm sorry son but I was drunk
Why should I forgive you man

Enough misery and hardship in this life
Why make more problems don't you have enough
Because moderation is the key to life
But there are many things you should not even try
There's no such thing as controlling heroin
It will suck you back to pain and hell again
Stole from your mom
You lost alll your friends
Your weakness left you with no opportunity

So if you fall again
Get yourself back up
Just never give in
And never give up

So now you cleaned up
You live day to day
Your tattered health a price tag you have to pay
Stole from your mom
Lost all your friends
Your weakness left you with no opportunity

How can you be so weak
To let afflictions win the fight
Addictive personalities
Be on guard the rest of your life

12   Pieter (03:20)

Pieter was a gift,
Still in my head and he
Never thought just of himself,
Put his friends and family first,
Was our friend,
We miss him dearly
Pieter was a gift,
He's still in our head and he
Lived his dreams,
Never thought of himself,
He was a man to everyone else,
He had his day,
He never mistreated,
I have to say we'll always miss Pieter,
Live your dreams,
Never thought of himself,
He was a man to everyone else,
He had his day,
Never mistreated,
I have to say we'll always miss Pieter always
I said he led the way,
He's always a leader,
The stars that shine,
I know that it's Pieter,
We often pray for his family's wellbein',
I have to say we'll always miss Pieter,
Lived his dreams,
Never thought of himself,
Was a man to everyone else,
He had his day but he never mistreated,
I have to say we'll always miss Pieter always

Pieter

You appreciate life,
You found the best in others,
You left this world one bit better,
Lookin' over us from up in the sky,
Pieter, you left your mark,
You have succeeded,
I've seen his dedications toward the ocean,
I've seen his pride and joy within his father,
Mother, sister, brother longin' for you,
We'll all meet again after this life's through

Inseparably connected for life of one mind,
We always share everything,
I'm so grateful,
We're friends for life,
We're one family,
Problem is too great to solve,
Together we're, oh, so strong,
We all come from, from the same tribe,
We're friends for life,
We're one family,
I've seen his dedication toward the ocean,
I've seen the pride and joy within his father,
Mother, sister, brother longin' for you,
We'll all meet again after this life's through
