The Profile

Hypnos is a Czech death metal band formed in 1999 by former Krabathor members Bruno and Pegas. Their discography includes In Blood We Trust (2000), The Revenge Ride (2001), Rabble Manifesto (2005), Heretic Commando: Rise of the New Antikrist (2012), and The Whitecrow (2017).

Czech death metal band active since 1999; sound associated with Floridian death metal influences (per review). Rabble Manifesto was their third full-length and includes tracks such as Drowned In Burial Mud, At Death’s Door, and Krieg (The Alpha Paradox). Publicly known members at formation were ex-Krabathor musicians.

Tepes reviews Hypnos’ Rabble Manifesto with a sharp, critical eye. The album’s production is praised, but songwriting is called cliché and overly derivative of Floridian death metal. Some strong riffs and atmospheric moments appear, yet linear drumming and filler intros drag it down. Verdict: a professional but underwhelming third full-length.
