LA RECENSIONE

"Evergreen," released on October 17, 2001, is the first single from the album "Roentgen" with which HYDE launches his solo career, effectively anticipating the album's release. It is a ballad behind which lies a tragic story. HYDE wrote this song after the death of a dear friend, the former bassist of his first band, who managed to get married during a long period of illness before passing away. In the lyrics, there are the words that HYDE imagines his friend would have wanted to say to his wife before dying. The choice of the CD's coffin-shaped packaging is therefore not accidental. The melody is disarmingly simple, very pleasant, and perfectly matches the lyrics. It manages to show the beauty of feelings such as love even when tragically struck by death.
