THE REVIEW

Many of you might be asking "who the hell are these guys???"
...well, I would have asked myself the same thing until a few years ago, specifically until I got to know the Oasis.

You might say "are Oasis involved here too?"
Well yes, the 5 guys from Manchester are indeed involved because this is the former band of the current bassist of the Mancunian band, Andy Bell, who was the guitarist in this project.

This single turned out to be very catchy on the first listen, despite containing only two tracks (actually there are three: two versions of the single, a complete 7-minute one and a "radio edit", plus an unreleased version of "Rising Sign").
The main track is made of a very simple rock, based on the beautiful, at times rasping voice of Alex Lowe and the incisive bass of Will Pepper.
Very peculiar is the version of "Rising Sign", a very acid and psychedelic remix obtained with the collaboration of My Bloody Valentine, with a good dose of electronics (a chapter that seems to have come from the pen of the Chemical Bros).

Both tracks are included in the album "Only The Strongest Will Survive," released in 1999.
In essence, the 4 stars are the average between the 5 of "The Greatest High" and the 3 of "Rising Sign".

Nice single, I will try to get my hands on the CD (a quite prohibitive, if not impossible mission...)
