The Profile

Howard Phillips Lovecraft (1890–1937) was an American author of weird fiction whose cosmic-horror vision and Cthulhu Mythos reshaped 20th‑century horror, with much of his work appearing in Weird Tales.

Published extensively in Weird Tales; wrote the essay Supernatural Horror in Literature; maintained an enormous correspondence (~100,000 letters); his work was championed posthumously by Arkham House (August Derleth and Donald Wandrei); exerted major influence across literature, film, art, and music.

A cluster of reviews covers Lovecraft’s critical writings, biographies, and Italian fanzines, alongside a tribute album and the 1960s Chicago psych band named after him. Themes orbit Weird Tales, Arkham House, and cosmic horror’s anti‑anthropocentrism. Expect quotes, context, and plenty of Providence.
