Albums of 2016 Part 7:
Honestly, I don't know if it's me who is currently surrounded by music that ranges from gritty core to an ancient sweetness, or it's the spring and we're all more melancholic. Hovvdy has a Lo-fi sweetness that's uncommon, or common if you compare it to his contemporaries (Alex G, Car Seat Headrest, Elvis Depressedly). But I feel, I feel something that reconciles me with Pollard and I feel the caress of Eric's Trip, I feel a melancholy that is at times slowcore and at times emo, I feel all of this and I feel it inside; Taster may not be anything extraordinary, but it's a simple album, brief. If you are (or feel) young and are short on soundtracks for your boredom, this album is right for you.
