They released the influential album The Lurid Traversal of Route 7 on Dischord Records in 1994, noted for taut rhythms, distressed vocals, and dynamic shifts. The group became a touchstone in the D.C. post-hardcore/emo scene.

Associated with Dischord Records and the Washington, D.C. post-hardcore scene; released The Lurid Traversal of Route 7 (1994).

A fervent salute to Hoover’s The Lurid Traversal of Route 7: dense, slow-burning DC post-hardcore where bass and drums drive, guitars grind, and vocals distress. Highlights include Distant, Pretender, the trumpet-laced Cable, and the searing finale Cuts Like Drugs. The reviewer calls it an absolute must-listen and a mature pinnacle of ’90s emo.
