Baffling. Definitely baffling.

The debut of this Italian-American trio (Los Angeles, Catania, Anzio) I believe is something never heard before. It is one of those rare times where, despite multiple listens, you don’t know what to hold onto. My pathetic nerd instinct leads me to repeatedly search for a reference or, as grandpa MySpace used to say, "influences" or "similar to." Just when I think I’ve almost figured it out, something dismantles my mental musings. No way, therefore, for which reason, on the umpteenth listen, I change my approach and start walking the streets of this new city, founded and inhabited by Honeybird along with his birdies from all over the world. Yes, because the combo is a trio completed by P-birdie and Ginobird but occasionally sees strange species appearing here and there. Thus, the streets of "Mixing Berries" are illuminated by the sound of the charango and by allowing humanity to reconcile with Mother Nature, it brings vast, colorful green spaces back to life.

The beautiful voices of Honeybird and P-birdie intertwine and chase each other through sweet and playful melodies and harmonies that take you from the state of Bahia to Michigan, from Sicily to Roman holidays. A walk through the streets becomes a run across the meadows, a dive into the Mediterranean, the world seen from Mount Etna. Forget the limiting concept of world music, "Mixing Berries" is not a melting pot of musical genres but of sounds and sensations that delve into everyone’s knowledge to create something new.

To be consumed preferably in the open air and with an open mind.
