This excellent band comes from Australia, formed in the early '80s and still active. The album in question is the self-titled debut, released in 1988 by the German label Steam Hammer records.
The quartet is led by the sinister Peter Hobbs, singer and guitarist, a not-so-young character with a few extra pounds and a Lemmy-like mustache. The LP, released in 1988, offers a classic, uncompromising violent death metal, with a particularly refined and devastating sound for its time. It wasn't easy to find the record, in fact... but the wait was rewarded by an album that ranks among the "classics" of my collection.
A total of 10 tracks for a sound that, at first listen, recalls Sepultura, but also the early Kreator and, in some intros and breaks, Slayer. Needless to say, it is an album directed at genre enthusiasts. It's definitely worth a listen and, for those who find the vinyl, a purchase.
Given the genre, any further comment is also superfluous, a formula overused but, in this case, successful!
P.S. I've noticed that the national sport, after writing a review, is mere offense. My intentions are more to highlight lesser-known albums which, in my opinion, are at least worth listening to, after which one can decide whether to include them among their favorites or not.
