After garnering considerable attention from both the public and critics with the release of the previous LP ('Ruthless Sperm', 2013) on Sub Pop Records, Francesco Mariani, the man behind the project His Electro Blue Voice, returns with a new album titled 'Mental Hoop', released on November 24 by Maple Death in Europe and Iron Lung Records in North America.

Clearly fascinated by the obsessive and repetitive sounds of kraut-rock, Francesco attempts to fit this type of attitude into a base framework that is typically post-punk and/or post-hardcore. The effect is devastating. More traditional episodes like 'Crystal Mind' are juxtaposed with manifestations of pure fury such as 'Ice Skull', 'Jaws', 'Earthworm', up to 'Scum Rat', 'The Wizz', and the concluding 'Onieut', in which punk noise sounds blend with the hallucinatory shoegaze of the Telescopes, resulting in true electrostatic energy discharges and reverberations of sound waves.

His Electro Blue Voice is a project that continues to claim what it considers to be its uniqueness and non-belonging to any particular musical movement or scene. 'Mental Hoop' is therefore at the same time an album without a specific genre reference, but above all, the forceful manifestation of what can be considered an expressive urgency and the proper complement to its predecessor 'Ruthless Sperm': a creature of wild and untamed nature.
