I don't hide behind my finger: I know the members of the band in question and have been following their journey from the origins (or almost). Despite this, I will not embark on writing "well" about them because they are friends and acquaintances. No. I will write well about this trio because they have talent and grit in spades.
Band divided between Como and Bologna. Proponents of a sound that owes much to American noise rock but also to British post-punk.
His Electro Blue Voice have established themselves in the past five years as one of the most interesting entities in the Italian alternative scene.
What is reviewed here is not their recording debut ("Ruthless Sperm," which I do not yet own) but rather their 7" released in 2008 by Sacred Bone Records. The tracks in question are only two.
Side A presents us "Duuug," a reckless punk rock with "noise" echoes reminiscent of early Sonic Youth. Not bad.
Turning the 7", the angry "Fury Eyes" begins. Sonic Youth and Nirvana from the "Bleach" era shake hands with dark atmospheres that smell of post-1979 England.
An appetizer capable of making us understand the character of His Electro Blue Voice and that, despite the chronological limit of about nine minutes, gives a vague but clear idea of what they will produce in the future so close to our days.
