Hideo Kojima (born 1963) is a Japanese video game designer, director and producer, best known for creating the Metal Gear series.

Kojima is known for the Metal Gear series and for cinematic, narrative-driven game design. He worked at Konami, founded Kojima Productions (originally within Konami) and reestablished Kojima Productions as an independent studio after leaving Konami in 2015. His notable titles include entries in the Metal Gear series and Death Stranding.
