Hercules and Love Affair is a New York-based dance project led by DJ/producer Andy Butler, formed in 2004. The 2008 DFA debut, featuring Antony Hegarty, fused house, disco and electronic influences and led to further albums including Blue Songs, The Feast Of The Broken Heart, Omnion and In Amber.

Formed in New York in 2004 by Andy Butler; debut album released on DFA Records (2008) produced by Tim Goldsworthy; Antony Hegarty (now ANOHNI) sang on multiple debut tracks including "Blind"; "Blind" received a celebrated remix by Frankie Knuckles; subsequent albums include Blue Songs (2011), The Feast Of The Broken Heart (2014), Omnion (2017) and In Amber (2022).

Reviews celebrate the 2008 DFA debut for its three-decade sweep of dance music and Antony Hegarty’s standout vocals. The Frankie Knuckles remix of Blind gets nods. Another review praises the album’s heart and groove. A later entry, The Feast Of The Broken Heart, is panned for monotony and thin songwriting. Overall: love for the origins, skepticism for the mid-period.
