THE REVIEW

The title doesn't leave much to the imagination. It's a collection of tracks from the first five albums of Herb Alpert, a Californian trumpeter with a love for Latin sounds, specifically Chicano.

For easy listening enthusiasts, it will be a real treat, a short and relaxing journey on the roads of jazz and pop, infused with Mexican spices (but bought in a Los Angeles department store). For everyone else, there will be the pleasure of listening again to A Taste of Honey, an exceptionally great instrumental, Grammy winner and the result of the genius of Ric Marlow and Rob Scott, as well as the theme of Tutto il calcio minuto per minuto...

This doesn't overshadow tracks like Spanish Flea, Never on Sunday, the divertissement of America and the spaghetti western-like Lonely Bull. The twist on Zorba the Greek isn't bad either.

In short, this work goes down our auditory canals just like an iced lemonade would on these scorching August days.
