LA RECENSIONE

Suggestions of post-rave-grindcore with an acid twist, with nods (right from the title) to bubblegum teen pop, whose reference icon is not so much Britney Spears, but M - The Monster of Dusseldorf. However, to appropriately encompass the anarchic spirit of this American band, rich in violent and self-ironic pathos, imaginative titles suffice. And the cover.

It’s only right to mention at least the most inspired tracks, compositional sketches as spontaneous as they are extraordinary in their ability to unite the basest and most vile human emotions with a rich humus background of childlike wonders and vigorous diarrheic discharges. It's impossible not to mention, for example, that masterpiece "Kittens Pooping Out Rainbows And Razorblades", a true anthem for cat lovers around the world, who will recognize in this seminal journey into sound violence the tenderness inherent in kittens.

In reality, all tracks should be mentioned. Because it is an eclectic album full of important themes, ranging from politics ("Paris Hilton Jihad") to childlike playful regressions ("Charizard Uses Flamethrower Up Blastoise's Vagina"), passing through the memory of history ("Lincoln Log Holocaust") and the denunciation of child violence ("Smashing Babies With Rocks"), in an arsenal of quotes that embrace every level of culture. The sound of these 22 jewels is raw and spontaneous, but also cathartic. Already at the first listen, it sets the eardrums on fire. An original way to balance pauses and adrenaline bursts that, with one hand, caresses your nape, and with the other, digs into your intestines. On these slightly electronic and slightly jazzy soundscapes (with more than a few nods to contemporary classical), the vocal intervention of a performer in a perpetual euphoric state stands out, but always on the verge of schizophrenia.

The more the tracks flow, the more one delves into what is, after all, an uncontrollable but controlled outburst of grace and ferocity. And it becomes a drug.

Struck by listening, we even put together a raucous tribute band, the Hell Kitty, for ocarina (O__O, who also does the choruses) and voice/drum machine (Hell). Our debut album, still in the process of elaboration (definitely difficult due to this sturm und drang of fiery feelings), will be titled "O__O".

Stay tuned.
