LA RECENSIONE

"Heart On My Sleeve": the very name says it all; a band that communicates its emotions without beating around the bush, hitting straight to the heart of the listener, psychologically destroying them and making them protagonists of what it tells...

A wind coming from Scandinavia brings with it the voice of a woman, a woman who intends to shout to the world what burdens her heart, to communicate the emotions of a moment in a vivid and often even raw manner.

"Stand-by, We're Going In For Life" is a heartbreaking and angry EP that moves from the very first notes of the opener "Forever Summer", which is a snapshot of some unforgettable moments of a summer spent in the arms of love...
Forever lost in this moment, floating in a vivid memory

The listening continues with one of the, in my opinion, most beautiful songs of the band, "Today Is The Day", an utterly moving piece. The first time I heard it, I cried like a baby;
A fabulous text in its simplicity; the singer finds in the lyrics her alter ego and refers to her as "our narrator," a narrator who feels wrapped in anguish and feels herself falling into depression, as she has been waiting for a long time for a change, a radical turning point in her life, which unfortunately never comes and she goes to bed overwhelmed by fear, realizing that outside her room time flows, unlike inside.

With "Bitter Verses", the theme of the previous song is resumed, the despair stemming from the impotence of achieving that much-desired change, but here the reflection shifts to the narrator herself, who suffers because she can't find herself, to give meaning to her life.
I have waited all my life to find myself, while slowly dying, day after day, leaving me bitter, so bitter

"Without Scaffolding": Without scaffolding...
A wonderful song with equally wonderful lyrics; the singer compares herself to a skyscraper that, no matter how well built, or how excellent the materials used are, always remains alone, and desperation and anger set in.
In solitude, we are all fragile, without scaffolding to support us, we all fall into disgrace

The intensity contained in these four tracks is unparalleled, an album capable of tearing even the toughest souls apart and moving from the first to the last note, leaving the listener in a perpetual state of anguish throughout the listening.
