I love the Throne. It has captivated me since the first season and isn't letting go. It shakes me, bends me, crushes me, attracts, excites, fascinates, thrills, torments. It kept my eyes glued to the screen until they dried and shriveled like two figs under the July sun.
Did I not explain myself well?
I clung to the screen like a leech that uses its sucker to pierce the victim's skin to feed on its blood.
Was I not exhaustive enough?
I didn't take my eyes off the screen just like a priest wouldn't take his eyes off a child
Well...
The seventh and penultimate season of Game of Thrones, the greatest television phenomenon of recent years, really pissed me off.
I repeat, I love the Throne, but I can't watch it fall short right at the climax (sorry), the finale.
A finale that will conclude with the eighth and final season, with an epic and comprehensive ending. I hope.
Perhaps to make up for many oversights of the 7th season, a missed opportunity.
It's a bit like when at night, before going to bed, you don't want to brush your teeth.
Damn, you've spent an entire day and you give up at the last moment?
No, you brush your teeth and go to bed, you can't have spent an entire day living and then give in to fatigue at the most crucial moment.
No! You brush your teeth and give meaning to your day!
Well...
The seventh and penultimate season of Game of Thrones sees Daenerys Targaryen with her three dragons about to conquer the western continent, to dethrone the evil Queen Cersei Lannister. We have two factions clashing: the first is allied with Dorne, the Highgarden, the Iron Islands, and above all the North.
The second can count on the rest of the seven kingdoms.
Beyond the Wall, however, looms a problem much greater than the war for the throne: the arrival of the Night King, with his army of White Walkers and Undead.
It will be Jon Snow, who after defeating the Boltons rules the North, who will ask the mother of dragons for help to defeat the dangerous enemy.
Too bad, though, that then he ends up sleeping with her.
Fan Service, dear readers, this is called fan service.
Apart from that, the meeting at King's Landing between the two factions, intended to establish a truce to defeat the Undead threat, was not very convincing. It could have been excellently structured, but instead, a banal development and dialogue were chosen. It's a shame, really.
It would have been interesting to see the enemies meet, building a smart and diplomatic conversation. A pity...
Another point that left me somewhat disappointed was the death of the dragon Viserion, which I couldn't bear.
But damn, saying "Daenerys Targaryen, Stormborn, Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea, the Unburnt, Mother of Dragons, Mhysa, Breaker of Chains, with her THREE DRAGONS" is quite different from saying "Daenerys Targaryen, Stormborn, Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea, the Unburnt, Mother of Dragons, Mhysa, Breaker of Chains, with her TWO DRAGONS".
One has to admit that the latter is much less grandiose, less frightening to the enemy, and makes Daenerys herself less majestic.
Well...
One hopes that with the eighth season more things start to fall into place, and above all, that they are well-structured, like the previous seasons.
Fingers crossed...
