The Profile

Harry Nilsson (1941–1994) was an American singer-songwriter with a remarkable tenor voice and a studio-centric career. He scored major hits with Everybody’s Talkin’ and Without You, released acclaimed albums like Nilsson Schmilsson and Aerial Ballet, and collaborated closely with members of The Beatles—John Lennon produced his 1974 album Pussy Cats.

Born in Brooklyn, New York; died in 1994. Known for the hits Everybody’s Talkin’ (Fred Neil cover) and Without You (Badfinger cover). Celebrated for multi-tracked vocals and wide tenor range. Frequently associated with The Beatles’ circle; John Lennon produced Pussy Cats (1974). Rarely performed live.

Three DeBaser reviews spotlight Harry Nilsson’s voice, arranging flair, and Beatles-tinged pop craft. Pandemonium Shadow Show blends originals and elegant covers, while Aerial Ballet delivers signature moments like Everybody’s Talkin’ and One. Pussy Cats—produced by John Lennon during the “lost weekend”—mixes covers and originals with charm, if not peak originality.
