Rating: Like in a hall of mirrors, the track titles in "After The Night Falls" establish a dialogue with the pieces of the twin album, "Before The Day Breaks". A secret conversation, made of whispers in the night, between the intense and pathos-laden sounds of Robin Guthrie and Harold Budd. A very peculiar release (July 2007) for two distinct but complementary albums.
How distant your heart is
Music made of gentle touches on the electric guitar (Guthrie) and the piano treated with electronics (Budd) to reflect on what lies beyond the music, outside our room: sometimes it is the unreachable heart of a loved one, of whom only the soul is close to us.
She is my strength
The sound of this album comes to live with us, so great is its density: there’s no point in resisting, one must give in to the invasion of the environment, the same where we have so often found in her the reasons for our strength, sometimes our weakness.
Inside, a golden echo
Perhaps the sound of her voice? Certainly not that of this music, completely devoid of voices. And outside, only silence.

A chance encounter, a face in the crowd: eyes that we will never see again. I returned the gaze...And then, I left.
The girl with colorful thoughts
The colors of these sounds are those of the two covers: the dark brown, the vibrant yellow, the fiery red; so different from our monochrome vision.

An essential condition for those who want to listen to this intimate music, made of a delicate sound but that lives with fullness. An album for dreamers, to listen to when the clamors of the day have subsided, to savor without haste, with one's gaze lost along the borders of the night, a night in which it might be equally essential to light up the moon.
