The Profile

Hard-Ons are an Australian punk rock band formed in Sydney in 1981, known for fusing pop-punk hooks, hardcore speed, and surf/garage elements. Cult favorites, they’re celebrated for singles like “Girl In The Sweater” and albums such as “Dickcheese” and “Love Is A Battlefield of Wounded Hearts.”

Formed in Sydney (Punchbowl), New South Wales, in 1981 by Peter Black, Ray Ahn, and Keish de Silva; active 1981–1993 and 1997–present.

One review hails Hard-Ons’ “Girl In The Sweater” as an immortal anthem. The music is likened to Rocket to Russia spun at 78 RPM. Lyrics read like a cheeky, practical guide to safe sex. The band is praised as three flashy exponents of Australian pogo-pop.
