The Profile

Hapshash and the Coloured Coat was a British psychedelic design partnership of Michael English and Nigel Weymouth that also recorded music in the late 1960s, releasing albums including the 1967 Featuring the Human Host and the Heavy Metal Kids and 1969's Western Flier.

Duo members: Michael English and Nigel Weymouth. Known primarily for psychedelic posters and graphic work of the late 1960s. Released the album Featuring the Human Host and the Heavy Metal Kids (1967) and Western Flier (1969). The 1967 album involved Guy Stevens as the 'Human Host' and was backed by musicians described as the Heavy Metal Kids (linked in reviews to the group The Art). Nigel Weymouth later moved into figurative art; the review states he designed the cover of Bryter Later for Nick Drake. The group's work is closely associated with the London psychedelic scene and Carnaby Street era imagery.

A British psychedelic design duo (Michael English and Nigel Weymouth) who also released late‑1960s albums. Their 1967 record is praised for cover art and certain free-form, experimental tracks but judged dated in places. Notable for vivid poster work and cult musical forays.
