The Profile

Canadian punk rock band and Ramones-inspired side project of Rob and John Wright (NoMeansNo). Known for short, high-energy songs and hockey, beer, and girl-centric lyrics. Debuted with Gross Misconduct in 1992 and became cult favorites for their rowdy live shows.

Formed as a NoMeansNo offshoot; members adopted the stage surnames Johnny, Robbie, Tommy, and Kenny Hanson; early activity centered on fiery live sets; first album (1992) features 17 tracks, surf and melodic touches, and a rework of Blitzkrieg Bop as Blitzkrieg Hop; themes revolve around girls, beer, and hockey; Canadian origin; review rating: 4/5.

A raucous Canadian punk project by NoMeansNo’s Wright brothers paying loud, affectionate homage to the Ramones. Short, hooky songs about hockey, beer, and girls dominate. The 1992 debut Gross Misconduct riffs on Road to Ruin aesthetics and even twists Blitzkrieg Bop into Blitzkrieg Hop. Infectious energy over originality, delivered with grin-inducing swagger.
