Hammurabi was a king of Babylon best known for the Code of Hammurabi, one of the earliest written legal codes.

Reigned approximately c. 1792–1750 BC. The Code of Hammurabi is among the earliest surviving sets of laws and is historically significant for being inscribed and publicly displayed.
