THE REVIEW

After irreparably leaving Judas Priest, after a brief career with Two, after collaborating with Pantera and after recording two albums with the highly underrated Fight, what does our dear Metal God do? Retire? NOT EVEN IN YOUR DREAMS!!!

After doing everything I mentioned above, he forms another band, eponymously named Halford, with whom he would record 2 studio albums and one live album.

Resurrection is the first album by Halford, released in 2000, featuring Rob Halford on vocals (no kidding?!), Patrick Lachman (future voice of Damageplan) on guitar, Punk drummer Pete Parada, Mike Chlasciak on guitar, and Ray Riendeau on bass.

The album's sound is a very Priest-like style somewhere between "Screaming For Vengeance" and "Painkiller". Once again, Rob hits the mark!

The songs are all fast, aggressive, and captivating; tracks like "Made In Hell", "Locked & Loaded", and "Resurrection" bring to mind the golden era of Judas Priest and make classic Heavier fans lick their lips. Another gem is "The One You Love To Hate", a duet with another metal god, Bruce Dickinson.

In conclusion, the album is far from being a must-have because ultimately it was neither innovative nor inspirational for anyone, yet it remains highly enjoyable to listen to.

Recommended for those who are not looking for anything new and remain faithful to classic 80s Heavy Metal. UNTIL NEXT TIME!!!

STAY METAL!

Featuring a stellar lineup and a notable duet with Bruce Dickinson, it's a treat for fans of classic 80s heavy metal.
