This strapping Welshman with an unpronounceable name but known as H. Hawkline has very clear ideas. Precise ideas well executed with great taste in his second work "In The Pink Of Condition," in the humble opinion of Yours Truly, a great surprise in a 2015, perhaps stingy on highlights in the immense psycho galaxy. The young dandy in a jacket and new wave t-shirt pulled a series of almost perfect pieces out of the hat—almost for our own good because too much spoils.

We are in psycho pop territories but far from a simple reinterpretation of the 60s. Our Man's gaze is undoubtedly focused on the English years straddling the 60s and 70s, but crosses a post-punk new wave fog that deforms his amiable artifacts. Thus, we encounter songs of a parallel world not perfectly centered, difficult to place in time but with an always exquisitely pop flavor.

The young man with the unpronounceable name is Welsh, so how can we not mention the colorful sugar sticks of the Super Furry Animals, the pop extravaganza of the more sober Gorky's Zygotic Mynci. We continue listening, how can we not recognize the aristocratic touch of Kevin Ayers, the surreal irony of the Kinks, the surreal vein of a Barrett within the lines of an almost score, the almost McCartney of RAM. Almost, that's what makes this work special.

Our Man has his antennas well tuned to frequencies that, although much more advanced in years, continue to draw inspiration through straws into his beloved drinks. Here emerge the XTC of "English Settlement", the surreal adventures of Mr. Fegmania, The Monochrome Set far from tropical curtains, a Paul Roland far from his gothic library, a bouncing Jazz Butcher, out-of-this-world figures like Nick Haeffener, the fairy-tale Jacco Gardener.

Many suggestions that H. Hawkline works with great maturity, among synths, guitars, effects, covering everything with a lo-fi sprinkle to offer us psycho pop delicacies with a strange and unique taste.

I don't like to give advice, but try tasting these delicacies, after which it will be hard to stay away from them.
