First of all, I am an avid fan of the Gunners, and to me, all their CDs are equally amazing. Now I can start reviewing this album. Around their latest work, there has always been a lot of distancing (more from those who have always fought to defame them rather than true fans): it certainly was not the best way to say goodbye. The cover album, apparently, is a method that many great bands have used in recent years, who honestly had nothing more to say (Megadeth and Metallica in particular).

The first track (as well as the single) "Since I Don't Have You" (orig. The Skyliners) is perhaps the song that made true fans wrinkle their noses the most, with its syrupy rhythm, not to mention that Axl's voice doesn’t seem suitable at all. It continues with "New Rose" (orig. The Damned), which with its compelling drum intro and the voice of the great Duff makes us forget what we suffered with the previous track, while "Down On the Farm" (orig. UK Subs) shows us how important it was in their musical training. But it is from the fourth song, "Human Being" (orig. New York Dolls), that things get lively: the engaging piano and the '50s rock n' roll rhythm give a surge of adrenaline that continues with the great "Raw Power" (orig. Iggy and The Stooges). The sixth song is "Ain't It Fun" (orig. Dead Boys), dedicated to the group's singer Stiv Bators, who died 3 years earlier in a car accident. After a not-so-great "Big Dumb Sex" (orig. Soundgarden), we reach the crescendo conclusion of the album, which begins with "Hair Of The Dog" (orig. Nazareth), driven by a riff that you don't forget. Meanwhile, while "Attitude" (orig. Misfits) burns through its minute and 29 in a blaze and "Black Leather" (orig. Steve Jones) shows us a new, harder side of the Sex Pistols' guitarist, we reach the most beautiful song of the CD: "You Can't Put Your Arms Around A Memory" (orig. Johnny Thunders); originally included in Duff's solo CD, it is dedicated to the bassist’s greatest hero, the New York Dolls guitarist Johnny Thunders, who died in 1991 in New Orleans from an overdose. And to close the CD, what could have been more appropriate than a message to all those who criticized them? Nothing, and that is the function of "I Don't Care About You" (orig. Fear). Note that the second part of the song, after the pause, is occupied by "Look At Your Game Girl" by Charles Manson, for whom Axl had a kind of devotion (and then he freaks out when people call him crazy?!)
