If you are looking for innovation and originality, you might be disappointed, but if you do not disdain some good old extreme classicism, then you will find just what you're looking for.

We are talking about a work that, despite being released in February 2015, powerfully and accurately mirrors what is the quintessential old school American death metal, which, in my opinion, is likely bringing a satisfied smile to the face of the good old Chuck.
These guys are certainly not newcomers; on the contrary! We're dealing with a pretty impressive lineup: Matt Harvey - Vocals/Guitar (Exhumed), Robin Mazen - Bass (Derkéta), Gus Rios - Drums (ex Malevolent Creation), and Daniel Gonzalez - Guitar (Possessed).

The project started with the idea of paying homage to Death by creating a tribute to the band, and thankfully, in my opinion, the members didn't stop there but decided to gift us this album to take us a bit back in time. Which never hurts.
From the first track “Savage Land”, which gives the release its name, to the last self-titled track “Gruesome”, we can immerse ourselves in the typical sounds of old school death metal, straightforward and bold, of which Death carried the banners.
Last but not least, another tribute to Death is found in the artist who designed the album cover, Ed Repka, who has signed some of the band's covers as well as numerous other artworks since the 80s.

If you are lovers and/or nostalgic of this kind of sound, this is a release that must be part of your collection.
