Have you ever experienced a bomb? Well, in 2004, one went off.
Greeley Estates are unfortunately known in the mainstream as one of the countless and extremely fringe truzz-metalcore bands and, mind you, this reputation is anything but undeserved; their last two albums under a major label brought them to the forefront, but at the same time overshadowed the good things they had done. A bomb, we were saying...yes.
The impact with the opener Shelter is one you don't forget, guitar reminiscent of Lostprophets' good old times with attached melodic voice and goosebump-inducing scream. Period. That's all there is. From here starts a series of 12 tracks that pierce through you, make you want to throw your headphones. And to hell if they all sound the same, to hell with anyone who doesn't want to give Outside of This a chance to get inside them.
There's nothing about glossy metalcore here, everything but that. Leave aside the tru rocker prejudices and you will be struck, I swear.
I know I've written very little, but in a way, I don't want to take away the thrill of surprise, more than a review this is a shopping tip. Yo.
