It is scandalous that on this site there are more reviews about Hilary Duff (!?!) than about the most well-known undertakers of metal, that is, the Grave Digger of Chris Boltendahl.

I will try to fix this by starting with the latest work by the Diggers (recorded and mixed in June 2006): the single-live album "Yesterday".

The single offers, as the first track, a better produced and played version of "Yesterday"; a song that appeared on their first album "Heavy Metal Breakdown"; named (unimaginatively) "Yesterday 2006". It neither adds nor takes away anything from the first version.

The only new song is "The Reapers Dance", a very punchy and catchy piece, with coarse guitar and vocals that bring us back to the early albums. "No Quarter" (cover), dreamy and melancholic, is an excellent song but, however, foreign to the typical Diggers' sound. It closes with an orchestral version of "Yesterday".

The live, however, was recorded during our performance at the Festival Rock Machina (where, by the way, there weren't many people). After a great introduction of bagpipes and drums, thirteen of the undertaker's best compositions alternate: from the more epic such as "Lionheart" and "The Round Table" to the more Heavy like "HMB" or "The Reaper". Chris's performance was very good.

In conclusion: dedicated to die-hard fans, the others would better wait for the new album.
