..we run ..we run ..we run ..always ..all our lives ..for something we might not even know. But ..the goal is not important, what matters is the journey taken to achieve it. This is what "The Spinning Top" talks about, the path that each of us, from the moment we are born, must travel.

The album is, technically speaking, a "concept album", centered on the life of someone, but without the heaviness that often burdens works of the same genre: it flows in a way that is truly a pleasure for the ears, for the heart, for the soul, for the spark that somehow, I am sure, will ignite in anyone who will dedicate a bit of their time to it.

Suspended between acoustic atmospheres ("This House", "Sorrow's Army"), lysergic (the birth in "Look into the light", "Home", the long "In The Morning" with a splendid central instrumental part), particularly emotional and evocative ("Brave The Storm" might bring you to tears, "Tripping Over" is the poignant pre-finale, paradoxically full of life), but also melancholic (the paralyzing "Far Out From Everything" and "November", the finale) and joyful, vital ("Perfect Love", "Humble Man"), the album is a true journey.

Psychhedelic distortions, at times violent ("Dead Bees"), at times hallucinated and ecstatic ("Caspian Sea", "If You Want Me") complete an almost perfect work in every aspect; from the writing, to the sound, to the meticulous and refined arrangements, to the crystalline inspiration that permeates all the songs, which, while connected to each other to form a beautiful picture, release incredible strength even when taken individually.

Coxon on his seventh solo album writes his masterpiece. One of the most beautiful albums of these '00s years.
