The latest work by former Blur member Coxon is excellent.
Recorded within a week strictly in analog, this little gem gathers 13 pure and genuine tracks without the interference of any machine other than a simple Vintage recorder.
Coxon encapsulates in three-quarters of an hour emotions and sensations typical of that morning atmosphere caught between light and mist, hopes and fears. In short, an album much like the first cup of coffee of the day, encapsulating the whole essence of an awakening... whether it’s good or bad.
"Escape Song" and "Do What You're Told To" have a true garage feel, "Mountain Of Regret" and "Baby You're Out Of Your Mind" travel between Drake and Dylan with style and mastery... in short, while witnessing the slow collapse of Damon and the others, what does our Coxon do? He gives us an album like we haven't seen in years.
Instinctive and fresh, natural and essential, one of those albums that can only do good to those who listen to it. Expecially good.

"The title itself, in some way, is a declaration of intent: you can feel that... the author is slowly climbing back."
A closure, at once sad and full of hope, where you imagine him... playing his very personal hymn to life.
