LA RECENSIONE

Warren Haynes, like a young craftsman, honed his skills playing in the Allman Brothers Band and collaborating with other high-caliber artists.
Then, in 1995, he released the first album with his band, Gov't Mule, where he plays both vocals and guitar. Their rock is characterized by Warren's guitar, which seems to know how to speak, accompanied by a fantastic keyboard. Bass and drums complement their companions at an adequate level, occasionally taking their moments of glory.

"Deja Voodoo" is the group's latest album, featuring a sublime first CD of 12 songs and a second live in Chicago.
It begins with "Bad Man Walking", a compelling rock track that, like much of the CD, takes you back about thirty years. It then alternates between calmer, melodic tracks and others that are a bit more 'seventies'; notable are track number four, "Little Toy Brain", which falls among the melodic pieces, and number five, "Slackjaw Jezebel", which presents an astounding solo that makes it impossible not to listen to the rest of the album. This alternation creates a balance of sensations, allowing you to enjoy it to the fullest.
Happy listening.

Finally, the Mule has done it… after years of touring, through various albums and musical genres, they have reached their most successful incarnation.

Deja Voodoo is an exceptional album; the sound is compact, powerful, and much darker compared to the group’s other works... the Mule brand appears renewed but certainly not altered.
