LA RECENSIONE

They are young, they come from Lancashire above Manchester. Try to say "Pub" without opening your mouth or "Back" by opening it a lot, that's how they talk. The Brixton Academy is as beautiful as ever and full. 1,2,3,4,5 yes, there are five plus the horns that appear in good order when needed. What surprises me is that 3 of them, the guitarists, take turns singing. Yes, three guitars between acoustic and electric, it's a lot. I really like the concert, the CD a bit less. They are between pop and rock, a bit Oasis and a bit Blur. Not bad all in all, but from time to time too sappy like in "Sound Of Sounds." #1 and #2 are good, the rest so-so. Buy them only if you have nothing better on the horizon.

Summary by Bot

This review covers Gomez's 2002 live show at Brixton Academy, praising their energetic performance and vocal interplay among three guitarists. The live concert is preferred over the CD recording, which is seen as uneven with some overly sentimental tracks. Fans of indie pop-rock may find some gems but might want to be selective. Overall, a balanced take on the band's strengths and weaknesses.

Gomez

Gomez are an English band often described in these reviews as rootsy and bluesy with psychedelic and occasional electronic/dub elements, notable for rotating lead vocals among multiple members.
