Japanese manga artist and writer, a pioneer of the super robot and ecchi genres; creator of Devilman, Mazinger Z and Cutie Honey; active since the late 1960s.

Harenchi Gakuen (La scuola senza pudore) ran in Weekly Shonen Jump from Aug 1968 to Sep 1972 and is cited as a progenitor of the ecchi genre; it drew PTA protests and spawned TV, live-action and OVA adaptations.
