Gli Avvoltoi are a Bolognese group formed in the 1980s known for reviving 1960s Italian beat within a garage-psychedelic context. A 1991 incarnation featuring Moreno Spirogi and Sandro Piu marked a second artistic phase blending folk, psychedelia and proto-prog influences.

Area Pirata released the compilation 'Quando vuoi scappare (1991-1995)'. Their first album 'Il nostro è solo un mondo beat' was published by Contempo. The band's 1991 revival involved founder/singer Moreno Spirogi and Sandro Piu. The compilation gathers singles released for Destination X by Scanna, a 12" published by Vu Ballé, unreleased tracks (including live recordings) and multiple covers (including 'Hush', 'Lucifer Sam', 'Hey Joe' and others).
