THE REVIEW

Fernanda who sang all day long and believed and didn't believe in the songs. Love doesn't exist - she would tell me - and that's exactly why it's beautiful to sing about it. A prayer, after all, doesn't hurt.

Fernanda also had a husband, “an idiot who danced with the broom” and every time she said it, burst of laughter would ensue. Too bad Paolo, the guy from Alunni del Sole, never met her.

Because Paolo too believed and didn't believe. And Paolo too would have said that it's beautiful to sing about what doesn't exist. Then, of course, with all that yearning and all that regret, he was a bit over the top, so much so that listening to him today is more of an effort.

The fact is that time is ruthless and doesn't allow turning back. I was there though. And every now and then I still return to those places, not as I am today, but as I was.

“A caress to what doesn’t exist,” Fernanda would say, who, even though she was very cheerful, allowed herself a bit of melancholy. We, on the other hand, not having words to recognize it, kept it inside without even understanding it. That's why when "E mi manchi tanto" started playing from the jukebox, it always seemed like something was out of place.

It was a subtle crack that lasted only a moment and hinted at a place so unknown that it could only briefly touch us. And in the end, only the vague feeling of having grown up remained, without knowing how.
