THE REVIEW

This is an album of original solo piano pieces by the Venetian composer Giulio Andreetta, born in 1985. The record was released in 2018 by the label Velut Luna. It is a work that falls within the genre of contemporary classical music. I found some compositions very interesting, and I would describe this composer as belonging to the neo-romantic genre. One of his characteristics is the continuous change of style, creating very interesting effects of contrast between the different techniques used. A record definitely not to be missed, also for the excellent quality of the recording. And it is nevertheless interesting to read what Andreetta himself writes: "E tuttavia voglio anche ribadire che rifiuto ogni possibile identificazione tra autore e opera, e mi auguro che in futuro la mia musica possa in qualche modo prendere nuova linfa da sempre diverse forme d'ascolto e di interpretazione, che finalmente tradiscano la volontà del compositore".
